Trapollo Celebrates 10 Years: Q&A with co-founder John Aldridge

I recently sat down, over video chat, with Trapollo co-founder John Aldridge to look back at Trapollo’s journey over the last 10 years and what he sees the future holding.

Why did you all start Trapollo?

As Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) started to rise as a key element of care, we saw the need in the commercial healthcare sector for a company who could provide a wide array of connected care technology and services solutions. Trapollo was established to fill that gap in the market that no company could offer at that time. We received early and rapid validation of our perspective as many commercial payers, hospitals and home care organizations came to Trapollo to support and provide for their connected care needs.

Looking back at the last 10 years, how do you summarize Trapollo’s journey?

In summary, consistent and steady. We took the old school approach of treating your clients well, do a good job for them and you will become a trusted partner. Many of our clients have been in place for 5+ years and continually ask us to support more of their connected health programs. Unlike many companies who have entered … and exited this market, Trapollo has not fallen into the trap of chasing the next shiny object. We have stayed the course with our business plan, avoided distractions and have shown steady growth. As remote monitoring has steadily increased as a part of healthcare’s core model, we have grown with it.

How would you categorize Trapollo right now?

Trapollo has grown into a mature company with the ability to manage many different connected care requirements – for both technology and services. Our experience from working with some of the nation’s largest and most advanced health systems is vast and we can guide our clients as a trusted partner from the knowledge that we have gained from designing, launching and operating dozens of monitoring programs since Trapollo’s inception. We have the ability to scale rapidly and help our clients achieve their short- and long-term goals. This is most evident right now during the COVID-19 crisis. Many of our clients have asked us to scale the number of patients in their programs by as much as 3,000% in a matter of weeks. With the support of our parent company, Cox Communications, we have rapidly risen to the challenge by providing the necessary people, facilities, process and technology to support these requirements.

What do you see for Trapollo in the next 10 years?

As we have done for the past ten years, we will continue to support our clients well, adapt to the changing market and technology landscape and look ahead to prepare for what is on the horizon. As the demographics in the U.S. change and more people are willing to use technology as part of their healthcare delivery, we see the adoption of “technology enabled connected healthcare” rapidly increase. We see the home and office environments as the next venues for healthcare delivery. Our solutions and services will support preventative care, healthcare as part of your daily routine and aging in place.
